Kashmir - The Paradise - Day 1: Delhi - Jammu

Kashmir evokes the imagery of snow clad mountains, green meadows, valleys of flowers, magnificent Chinar trees, sound of streams and clear rivers, flocks of sheep and herds of horses, friendly people, hot kahwa... And we experienced them all!

Delhi - Jammu
Starting at 5 in the dawn from noida, reached Mango hotels by evening 5.3o . Mango hotels, located along the highway to jammu at Bari Brahmana, offers tidy, spacious and budget friendly rooms. Alas! The restaurant and dishes do not cater to the ambience. Driving across Haryana and Punjab was gliding along the breeze. Tractors on the roads slows you down making eyes feast on wheat fields ready for harvest in golden brown hues

Important: If you are driving a rental car (eg: zoomcar) pay road tax as soon as entering Punjab. It's very difficult to locate the road tax collection booth. Unfortunate that there are no proper, visible marking/boards on the highway. Below are the locations in google maps.

Toll plaza just before: https://goo.gl/maps/NHfSnAdT97o

Breakfast at Nilkanth Star dhaba at Karanal, Haryana is worth mentioning for good food, clean toilets, friendly staff. Location: https://goo.gl/maps/422uFvhZrD62

Also lunch at Haveli, khajurla near Ludhiana was good- wonderful place, awesome lunch. This place is a must try if you are driving in this highway. Location: https://goo.gl/maps/e9zThsuFsRA2

Zoomcar's 80km speed limit was the real speed breaker.. boring drive, but reached relaxed.

Distance of 600 km covered in about 12 hrs. Superb roads all the way and light traffic.
